Milan has two airports: Linate (very close to the town) and Malpensa (at about 50 km from the town).
Intercontinental flights land in Malpensa. From Malpensa Airport, Milan is reachable for instance by a bus which connects, every twenty minutes (from 05:30 until 00:15), the Airport to Central (train) Station (FARE: 5,00 euros) or a train which connects, every half an hour (from 05:53 until 01:30), the Airport to Cadorna Station (FARE: 11,00 euros, on board 13,50 euros), from where you may get to Central Station by the underground (green line).
Many continental flights land in Linate. From Linate Airport you may get to Central Station by a bus (FARE: 3,00 euros) departing every half an hour (from 06:05 until 23:45) or taxi (FARE: about 15 euros).
Many low cost flights land in Bergamo Orio al Serio (45 km from Milan). From there you can reach the Bergamo railway station by a shuttle bus (FARE: 1,55 euros; From 06.12 until 00.15, about every 30 minutes). From Bergamo, Varenna is reachable by train with one transfer in Lecco (see www.trenitalia.com).
HOW TO REACH VARENNA FROM MILAN
Varenna (70 km north of Milan, see the map) is reachable by train from Central Station (few trains are available also from Garibaldi Station - see the railway timetable below -, which is connected with Central Station and Cadorna Station by underground green line).
Once in Varenna, on Sunday 11th a little taxi-bus will bring you to your hotel (without charge).
